The things I want to carry on, are they ok

The things I want to carry on, are they ok?
I'm going on a flight soon from Memphis to Washington, DC. I'm only going to spend 3 nights there. I'm not taking a whole lot just for the 3 nights... I'm taking some changes of clothes, tooth brush, tooth paste and my cell phone and maybe a portable cd player with my headphones. All this is going in my back pack... I want to carry this on the plane with me... Should I have any problems with those simple things?

It sounds ok, but if you're worried, check w/ the TSA website to be sure. They have a list of prohibited items.

All of these items should be fine. Just make sure the toothpaste is travel size. The same would hold true with shampoo. You should be able to find all of this information by going to your airlines website.

The toothpaste (and any other liquids or gels) needs to be in container that holds 3 oz or less, so you'd need to get a travel sized tube of toothpaste. Other than that it should be fine. You can find a full list of permitted and prohibited items here: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

your stuff looks ok, but you will checked many times. Ship as many items as possible and keep asd less items as possible with you.

Make sure you put ALL gels/liquids/pastes/creams inside a sealed plastic bag (like Hefty). I would wear flip-flops and go without a belt if possible (no pocket change); this will help you go through security faster and with less hassle.

Well, dude, I suggest that you leave the toothpaste at home and buy a small tube when you get to Washington. There are drug stores and supermarkets aplenty and you can easily get to them and spend your 69 cents. The TSA will confiscate toothpaste if it is not new and less than 3 ounces and presented in a clear, 1 quart size, plastic bag. Just downright easier to leave it at home and buy a new one when you get to DC.
