Delta Airlines Ticket Refund

Delta Airlines Ticket Refund?
So I booked a $773.98 ticket through Delta for my girlfriend to fly round trip to Canada from Memphis to pick up her dog. We spoke with 2 different representatives at Delta to make sure the 105 pound dog would be permitted to fly once before the flight was booked and again after the flight was booked. Once in Canada my girlfriend called for a third time to make sure everything was in place for him to fly home. NOPE!!!!!!!!! They said the dog weighed too much and that there was a 100 pound weight limit. They even have on file for her ticket that she would be returning with a 105 pound dog. The corporate office was very very rude in resolving the conflict. The ticket was purchased on false information given by delta. They say that there was nothing they could do. We have spent many many hours on the phone. My Girlfriend ended up "getting the return flight reimbursed" before her return trip. Then we just called up Delta to check on the status of the claim. Denied!!!!!! Because she flew the return trip. The ladies at corporate straight up lied, and are now denying that they said they would reimburse us for the return trip. It was made clear on the phone that the return flight was being reimbursed for her inconvenience with the knowledge that she would be actually flying that flight home. Any ideas?

why call the third time?? you should have just brought the dog, and they probably would have let you since the ticket said 105pd dog

If you have a local consumer affairs advocate where you live (they are usually affiliated with a TV station), contact them. Or Small Claims Court.

There's not much you can do. As the consumer, you are ultimately responsible with adhereing to the airlines rules. Their rules are available to the public on their website.

You can write and complain and the more detail you have the better. Write down the day and time you called and the representative's names of whom you spoke to. That would hopefully strengthen your case. However Delta can deny just as AJ mentioned because they do have rules and it is up to the passenger to adhere to the rules. If you are lucky, you may be able to get a small travel voucher. One time I flew with Delta and they broke the wheels off my luggage and would only give me a $25 travel voucher.
