I have a 2 hour layover, what do I do

I have a 2 hour layover, what do I do?
I am trying to visit someone in Arkansas, and the only flight I could get was one with a long layover. I've flown before, but never had a layover, and I am freaking out because I worry more than I should, and I don't know what to do when I get to the second airport. I'm flying from Chicago IL, to Memphis TN, then to Fort Smith AR. I am deathly afraid of missing my flight, I already missed my flight yesterday, because there was a problem with my ticket and they had to issue me a new one, but it took too long. So, I'm just paranoid, and confused, what exactly do I do when I get to Memphis?

Go to the gate for your next flight and wait. Two hours is not that long a layover. Bring a book to read.

When you get into Memphis just go straight to the gate where your next flight departs from. You should have plenty of time to get to the gate as long as the first flight is not delayed by too much. When you have found your gate for the connecting flight and you still have some time you can either stay there and read or walk around the area and maybe get yourself something to drink, go to the restroom or do some browsing in the shops there. Just keep your eye on the clock and you'll do just fine.

if you are going to memphis airport for 2 hours, you have time to grab a bite to eat, browse the shoppes, go to starbucks, read a book, etc. plus two hours is perfect becuase that will give you a little wiggle room if your first flight gets delayed (which happens). when that first plane lands, go to the monitors in the airport and see which gate your next plane departs from (what's written on your boarding pass may not be correct) walk around, grab a bite to eat or some coffee and about 45 minutes until you next plane departs, check the monitors and wait by the gate

First of all, calm down. Having a layover isn't a big deal, and Memphis isn't that big of an airport. Yes, it's a Delta/NWA hub but physically it's not as big as say Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York-JFK, etc. Just the American and United operations at Chicago-O'Hare are bigger than the entire Delta/NWA operation at Memphis. Two hours is plenty of time for a layover. Let's put it this way. I flew up to Memphis and back this past December to buy something for my wife for Christmas and I got there on Northwest, spent about 45 minutes shopping, and had to sit in the gate area for my Delta flight back for 30 minutes. And that included going out through security to the ticket counter to nose around out there for the heck of it and put myself on standby for the Delta flight. So two hours in Memphis is actually too much time, but it's better to have too much time than not enough. Just relax, you'll make the layover and have time to shop, eat, or whatever in MEM.

2 hours is not a long layover (I've had 6 hours on a few occasions). In that time you can perhaps grab a quick bite to eat, or just watch other planes land and takeoff while you wait for your connecting flight.
